Bay Area Music Instruction was founded by guitarist and educator Gary Valeriani.

Since 1989, Gary has taught thousands of students throughout California, many of whom have gone on to study at top music schools.

The focus at Bay Area Guitar School is on a well rounded approach to the instrument. Rock, Blues, Jazz, Classical and Folk Styles are all taught as well as Music Theory, Sight Reading and Improvisation.

While growing up in the New York Metropolitan Area, Gary was fortunate to have studied privately with some of the great players in Jazz, including John Abercrombie, Lee Konitz, Sam Brown and others. He continues to share his knowledge and insight with guitar students throughout the East Bay.
